Praying for Miracles from our capable God...

Timmy, originally uploaded by Carebear26.

Well tonight i have a request for prayer for a wonderful family... I met the Rixmann's at Westgate Chapel in Edmonds a few years ago. They were serving in the college/20s ministry at that church and were very involved in worship and missions with the group. Leah and Robert now have four beautiful boys (the youngest is less than a month old!). Their eldest - Timmy - is five years old and had been battling a rare form of cancer on his brainstem for the last year and a half. This family is so amazing - they have the best outlook on life and are able, with peaceful hearts, to withstand situations that we all pray we'll never have to face. I have been amazed at their ability to trust God and leave everything at his feet, knowing with complete faith that He will work everything out according to His plan. Timmy has beaten the odds to this point, and we are all praying that he will continue to do so. Timmy has been undergoing times of intensive chemotherapy over the last several months, attempting to shrink the tumor as much as possible before undergoing his second surgery to remove the tumor. This surgery is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. He was admitted to the hospital Friday to begin preparations for the surgery. I'm asking any of you who read this post before or on Tuesday (June 14th) that you would pray for Timmy, his family, and the doctors and nurses who are working with him. This little boy is so precious and is truely a treasure who i know will do amazing things in his life. To read more about his story, click here and if asked to enter a password type in... I had the pleasure of meeting Timmy up at Westgate a few months back. The little guy is truly inspirational. He has been taking up drumming and at age 5 is way better the I think I could ever be. He loves worship music and the night I saw him, he was center stage drumming out "I'm trading my Sorrows". Lord bless him...

So the first report is back, and Timmy's carotid artery bypass surgery went well yesterday. He was in surgery for over 10 hours, but now they can more safely perform the actual tumor removal surgery today - another intense day and one that his past 9 months of chemo has been leading up to. So keep praying! I'll update as i hear anything...

Thank you for praying... Timmy is begining to recover from the surgeries and is in quite good spirits - requesting music and all. His mom tells us that the neurosurgeon described him as the "best patient ever" and when his ICU nurse was asked what her experience was in such a case--what we should expect for his recovery. She said "he's already far surpassed it". The initial results of surgery are very positive! His dad posted this yesterday: "The MRI confirmed Dr. Sekhar's hope from the surgery yesterday that a complete removal had been accomplished! Of course this result is not a microscopic inspection, and we will never get a guarantee that Timmy's been cured, but this is certainly the best news we hoped for in coming out of surgery. We'll be conferring back with the cancer docs now, to determine if further treatment is necessary, or just observation. Please continue to pray with us today that Timmy's recovery would progress quickly, and that God would give wisdom to doctors as they make decisions for his treatment." So praise the Lord for sucessful surgery and the wisdom he has given to the doctors who have been caring for Timmy. :)
